Sami Bayly

Natural History Illustrator

23 year old Sami has recently graduated from a bachelor in Natural History Illustration (Honours) at the University of Newcastle, Australia.

She is awaiting the release of her first book, “The Illustrated Encyclopaedia of Ugly Animals” published by Hachette Australia, which will be released September this year.
Available for pre-order:

She is inspired by artists like William T. Cooper and other Natural History Illustrators, after seeing their work whilst growing up.
She loves to try new mediums and techniques as she never know’s what style she might fall in love with next. However, at this point in time her most preferred medium is watercolour, and she loves to illustrate any animal that can be defined as weird or wonderful (or even ugly)!

If you want to be kept up to date with her process, book launch/signing, and even see some sneak peaks of the animals involved, then follow her on social media.

If you have enquiries about her work, please do not hesitate to contact.
